Create or modify route to external service
Network-attached storage is a file-level storage architecture that makes stored data more accessible to networked devices.
Prerequisites
You can use the Ping option from the File Interface card to determine if the file interface has access to the external resource.

You can configure the routes that the file system uses for external connections.
Usually, the NAS server interfaces are configured with a default gateway, which is used to route requests from the NAS server interface to external services.
Use the following steps:
- If you need to configure more granular routes to external services.
- To add a route to access a server from a specific interface through a specific gateway.
Steps
- Select a storage system that supports File.
- Select .
- Select the NAS SERVERS tab.
- Select the NETWORK tab.
- Select the ROUTES TO EXTERNAL SERVICES tab.
- Click Create to create a route. Alternatively, select an existing route and click Modify to modify the route properties.
- Select a value for Source. Type values for Gateway, Destination, and Network.
- Click OK.
